How to set up the integration?
-
Step 1 - for admins: A person who is both a Kordiam and a Slack admin needs to connect the two tools.
This is a simple process that takes a few seconds. It must be initiated by the admin on the page General Settings at the Slack settings.
-
Step 2 - for users: Users may need to activate the Kordiam app in Slack. You can find it at the bottom of the left dark navigation bar.
Click on + Add Apps, then click on the Kordiam app.
Once you have done that the Kordiam app for Slack appears in the left navigation.
Please note: The users must be registered in Kordiam and Slack with the same email address for this to work (users can edit their email address on the page My Settings).
Receiving Kordiam Assignments on Slack
Once you have installed the Kordiam app for Slack you don't need to do anything else.
Your assignments and updates to them will show up in that Kordiam channel.
Via the notification settings on the "My Settings" page you can select the way you want to be notified (Slack, email, both).
Sending a Kordiam Story to a Slack Group
Share individual stories in Kordiam on Slack and add a comment for your colleagues in the newsroom:
- Choose the "Send to Slack" option. This can be done in two places: In story lists hover over the story description. The usual contextual layers with actions and related information opens. Choose Send to Slack. On the main entry form for stories you will find a Slack icon in the upper right corner.
- An entry form opens. Add a message and select the Slack channel to which you want to send the story and your message to.
Click on Ok. If you are sending the story from a story list the data transfer to Slack is immediately initiated. In case you are sending it from the main entry form you need to save the entire story to send the data to Slack.
