Filtering by groups (and platforms) works differently across the Kordiam pages.
If you want to arrange your stories in a way that you only see those that are related to a specific group, you have to make the following changes.
Filtering by groups on the Dashboard, Short-term Planning and Calender page
For the Dashboard and Short-term Planning/Calendar these are
- filtering (green)
- tools & settings (red)
When navigating on the Long-term Calendar you need
- filtering (green)
- Page settings (blue)
If you only want to see stories related to the group you work for (or any other group), using the filters won't lead to the expected result.
For example filtering by "group" and sorting by "platform" will give you the following information:
- these are the platforms that specific group has access to and here are all the stories planned for these platforms
So basically when two groups have access to the same platforms filtering for either one of those won't help you because both have the same access rights.
The key is to not just filter by group but to sort by group also.
If you do this Kordiam will give you the following information:
- these are the stories that are related to that specific group
Filtering by groups on the Story List and Topics page
On the new Story List and Topics page the filter option works differently. While previously a story would be displayed if it was assigned to a selected group OR one of the selected platforms, it is now possible to filter the lists to definitely only show stories related to the selected group(s). The group filter can be accessed via the menu in the top right corner of the page.
You want to display content on the Topics page or Story List regardless of which group it is associated with? Then you need to reset the filters by deselecting all groups via "Deselect all". This way you will see all content scheduled for platforms you have access to, regardless of whether they are from your own groups or not.
Assigning groups
For this to work properly it is mandatory that you assign new stories to the groups they belong to.
So where do you do this? You find the option for this in the detailed entry mask in the upper right corner.
So to use this feature correctly make sure you assign the stories to the respective group(s).
