To set up an access restriction, your company must have booked the Support & Security Package or be an Enterprise customer. If you have any questions, please contact support@kordiam.io.
If you want to reduce the risk of unauthorized access to Kordiam you can restrict access so that only users accessing Kordiam from within a defined IP address range have access. Individual users can be exempted from this access restriction.
What's the effect of the access restriction?
Once you have enabled this feature, users from outside the IP address range can only access their own assignments on the My Schedule page. If they want to see more they have to access Kordiam via a VPN connection or from within the company offices.
How to enable the restriction?
Before enabling the restriction you should find out what IP addresses or IP address range your company uses to access the internet. Your IT department should know this. In case you want to allow access for external partners such as an external PR agency you would need to find out their static IP address as well.
Go to the Security Settings page in the admin area.
Enter the IP addresses into the field next to IP range. Enter one IP address or one IP address range per row. Ranges can be entered using an asterisk (*).
Example:
123.12.123.12
435.43.87.14
332.338.87.*
And don't forget to save your entries by clicking on the Save button below.
The access restriction does not work if your company or a partner company accesses the internet using dynamic IP addresses. In addition to that this feature allows access restriction only for IPv4 addresses, not for IPv6 addresses.
How to exempt users from the restriction
Once you have entered the IP addresses and saved them you can exempt individual users from this access restriction.
Go to the user list and open a user's profile.
There you can find a checkbox that allows you to exempt the user from the IP address restriction.
