Kordiam offers many functions on many pages. For most of our users, however, only a few pages are the focus of their daily use of Kordiam:
- Dashboard
- Short-term planning
- Story List
- Tasks Page
- My Schedule
By default, The Dashboard is the landing page for new users upon login.
You can change this default setting on the My settings page.
1. Dashboard
The Dashboard is the first page you'll encounter when logging into Kordiam for the first time.
This page is designed to present the most crucial information for the selected day. Upon initial visit, the current day is always pre-selected.
You'll find four boxes in total on this page, with the top two collapsed and the bottom two expanded. The precise contents of these boxes depend on the selection of groups and platforms/categories in the filter settings above. For instance, selecting all categories of a specific newspaper will display all events and stories related to that newspaper.
Shifts & Absences: This section showcases absences entered by (freelance) employees in Kordiam, along with shifts and the assigned users. Learn more about this feature here.
Events: Here, all appointments for the day are listed. By default, they're strictly sorted chronologically. However, you can also sort appointments by publication channels and categories or by groups (departments) using the sorting link on the right side of the appointments box.
Notes: This section displays all notes for the selected groups on the given day.
Stories: In the white control area at the top of the box, you've selected one or more platforms (websites, newspapers, magazines, etc.). This box displays the stories of the next issue for these platforms.
Please note that you can customize the contents of this page via the settings cog in the upper right corner (learn more about this).
2. Short-term Planning
You can find this page under the "Stories > Short-term" navigation point. Here, the planned stories for 1 to 14 days for the platforms selected in the filter settings are clearly displayed in columns.
Please note that depending on a setting, either
- calendar days or
- issues are displayed here.
In the first case, a specific number of calendar days is displayed regardless of whether the selected platform is published on any of those days or not.
In the other case, only the days on which the selected channel has publication days are displayed. For example, for a monthly publication platform, you can display the issues of more than a year side by side.
You can recognize this setting by the indication "Days" or "Days/Issues" to the right of the filter settings and the date selection. You can change the number of displayed days/issues by clicking on the number.
You can select the display of calendar or issue days through the gear icon on the right edge of the view.
3. Story List
The Story List is one of the central views of Kordiam. It's flexible, directly editable, and dynamic.
It provides the option to display stories for a period ranging from one day to one year. You can group your topics according to up to two different criteria and choose from a variety of sorting options.
Another feature is the selection of columns in which the information of a topic is displayed. Don't need the publication date because you're displaying topics for today? Then deselect the column and streamline your list. Don't like the order of the columns? Rearrange them with a simple drag and drop.
One special feature is the ability to display custom fields on the topics list. Additionally, all fields can be edited directly in the view. For example, move a topic to the next issue with a click or add a new task.
Learn more here.
4. Task Page
You can find an overview of all tasks entered in Kordiam on the Tasks page.
You can choose from a variety of filters to display the appropriate entries. Please note that the "time frame" filter is only available when you sort the list by "deadline".
5. My Schedule
You can find an overview of all appointments and tasks assigned to you personally on the "My Schedule" page next to the "Management" navigation point.
Here, you'll find a list of all events assigned to you, as well as all tasks and possibly deadlines.
For example, if you're scheduled to photograph a sports event today and deliver the images by tomorrow at the latest, you'll see two entries: one for today's appointment and one for tomorrow's task.
Please also note the print icons above the appointment and task columns. You can use these to print the list and take it with you, for example, or alternatively, you can subscribe to the calendar feed at the bottom of the My Settings page on your smartphone.
