In Kordiam, the planned content (stories) is primarily assigned to so-called platforms. Platforms answer the question: “Where do I intend to publish my stories?”
In the example above we see a story for which publications are planned on three different platforms.
Platform Setup
Users with administrator rights can create new platforms and modify existing ones within the "Settings > Platforms" section. The options listed under "Publication days" are especially important when setting up new platforms. There are two distinct publication frequencies to choose from:
Warning! After saving, switching between a weekly rhythm and a manual setup is no longer possible.
When creating a new platform, you will be asked to name it. You can optionally choose a color (currently, platform colors are only displayed on the Story List). You can also specify which groups should have access to this platform or skip this step (the access rights can also be adjusted later).
When you create a platform and select "Save & Add Detail Settings", or when you open an existing platform, you have access to the following additional settings:
- The Platform type determines whether you can create time slots for your platform (Digital/ Broadcast), store a printing time that is taken into account when planning stories (Print) or have both options to choose from (Other).
- Create categories for your platform. Categories divide platforms into individual planning areas (e.g. politics, sports, business).
- Categories can, in turn, be divided into sub-categories.
E.g. the category "Sport", into the sub-categories "Football", "Basketball", "Motorsport", etc.
- Categories can, in turn, be divided into sub-categories.
- Create types to label planned stories independent of their categories. For example, a "Teaser" or a "Comment".
- Under "Advanced Settings" you can subsequently adjust which groups should have access to this platform. However, the access rights can be defined in even more detail in the group settings. Read more about this here.
- You can also activate the Scope feature if you want to plan your publications for this platform, such as specifying word count or page numbers.
- On the "Integrations" tab, platform-specific connections with external systems can be set up. Some content management and digital asset management systems for which default integrations are already available are displayed. You can find more information on integrations here.
If you would like our assistance in setting up your platforms, you can enter your platforms, categories, etc. in the attached Excel file below and send it to support@kordiam.io.
We will then set up the platforms for you accordingly.
