What's a Slug?
A slug is a common feature in the US news industry and in digital publishing.
It basically describes a piece of content in a very aggregated form and can be used as part of the URL of a digital story.

Entering and displaying the Slug
You can enter the slug in all places where you can enter the story description - both in the main entry form as well as in the Fast Entry form. In both cases you'll find the slug field right above the description field.
A character counter displays the max number of characters you can enter and how many you have already entered. This max number can be edited by a Kordiam administrator on General Settings page.
By default the slug will be displayed in all places where Kordiam also displays the story description.
On certain pages such as the Short-term Planning you can choose to see just the description, just the slug or both. To set your preference click on the settings icon in the upper right area of the grey background.
Activating the Slug feature
The slug feature is de-activated by default for all customer accounts.
To activate it access Settings > General Settings and check the checkbox at "Slug".
In the line below you can define the maximum number of characters allowed for the Slug (range: 1 - 200 characters).
Slug API call
The slug can be read from and posted to the Kordiam API.
