Current range of functions
All user-defined fields are available in many places in the application.
Because Kordiam is in the process of completely redesigning the user interface on all pages, custom fields may not be available on all pages.
Integration into the Kordiam structure
Custom fields always belong to a story or an appointment, not absences, shifts or similar.
Within the structure of a story, the custom fields are in three different places:
- Overall story: Fields that are relevant to the entire story. These appear at the top right of the input screen.
- Per task: Fields assigned to one or multiple task types such as picture assignments.
- Fields per platform: Define fields for specific platforms such as your digital channel or your newsletter.
How do I create such a field?
You must have admin rights to set up such a field.
The Custom Fields page is available here.
If you have entered several fields, the order can be changed using drag & drop.
What types of fields are available?
Four types are currently available:
-
Text
A simple text input field for both short and longer texts.
URLs are recognized and linked as such, Topics (e.g. #elections2025) as well. -
Single selection
Create a list in the admin area (e.g. January, February, March, etc.). Users can then select one entry, but not several.
The individual entries can be highlighted in color.
You can also specify whether the field must be filled or whether it can remain empty. In the former case, Kordiam always enters the first value from the list when a new story is entered. -
Multiple selection
Analogous to single selection, you can create a list of entries from which users can select multiple entries. -
Date
Add an additional date field to your stories. The date field can be displayed on the Story List and Tasks page, allowing for chronological sorting of stories based on the date specified. -
Number
Add a number field to your entries to display numerical data. It also allows for easy sorting based on the specified values on all planning pages where Kordiam displays custom fields.
Do you need other field types? Please write to us at support@kordiam.io.
Where do these fields appear?
The fields appear in the following places:
- On the Story Entry Mask
- On the Story List
- On the Tasks page
- In the notification emails or Slack messages
- In the calendar files that Kordiam sends with the notification emails.
- In the xls downloads on the story list, the Topics page and the Tasks page.
- Via the API and in the webhooks used for integration with other systems
By which fields can be sorted, grouped, and filtered?
You can filter by single and multiple-selection fields on the Topics page, the Story List and Tasks page. On the Story List and Tasks page, you can also group by the mentioned fields. For single-selection fields sorting is also available on these pages.
