Certain types of stories appear on a regular basis in your publication.
This can be a Sports column on Mondays or the Interview of the Week every Sunday, for instance. Similar in nature are series that have a defined start and end date.
Kordiam allows you to easily enter such recurring stories or series.
How to enter a recurring story (formerly: standing feature):
Enter a story and click on the publication date in the lower right hand corner. A layer opens with three options.
Select "Recurring Story" and enter the appropriate settings in the area that appears once you have made the click.
Save the story and you are done!
How to edit an existing recurring story?
Whenever you open a recurring story for editing Kordiam will ask you whether you want to edit the recurring story or just one occurrence of the recurring story (or series).
Once you have removed an occurrence from the recurring story by editing it individually it is no longer part of the recurring story. Any change made to the recurring story will not be applied to the removed or individually edited occurrences.
Restrictions
In certain cases Kordiam does not allow you to enter a recurring story. Largely this is due to logical conflicts between the recurring publication dates and other elements.
These are the main situations where you cannot enter a recurring story or where you cannot enter other attributes once you have entered the data for the recurring story:
- If there is an event/appointment associated with the story you cannot enter a recurring story
- Once you have entered the data for a recurring story you cannot define a deadline for the tasks
- You cannot have the story assigned to more than one publication platform once it is a recurring story
